Volunteering
Volunteers are vital to accomplish the work at Flying Changes. The dedication and hard work of our volunteers help us bring the the benefits of therapeutic riding and equine activities to a broad range of individuals.
You don’t have to know a lot about horses to be a volunteer at Flying Changes. In addition to working directly with horses, there are a number of other ways to assist. Perhaps one of these volunteer opportunities would be of interest to you. Training is provided, of course!
- Program volunteers: help grooming and saddling horses before a lesson, leading or side-walking horses during a lesson, and help putting the horses up at the end of a lesson. Commitment is 1 to 2 hours weekly.
- Barn volunteers: feed and groom horses, clean tack and muck out stalls.
- Office volunteers: greet riders and visitors, help answer the telephone, assist with word processing, data entry, photocopying, bulk mailings and other office tasks.
- Maintenance volunteers: maintaining fences, repairing, clearing trails.
- Fund raising event volunteers: help with our annual fund raisers on committees and helping to put on the fundraiser.
Whatever your special skill or talent is, we have a place for you at Flying Changes. Contact Barbara Doughty, Volunteer Coordinator, at 207-729-0168 for more information or to volunteer. Or use our contact form by clicking HERE.
